Abstract : The current study aimed at revealing the effectiveness of using the mind maps strategy in developing the mathematical knowledge of third-grade female students with mathematics learning difficulties. The study followed the semi-experimental methodology based on the one-group design. To achieve the objectives of the study, two achievement tests were prepared to measure the conceptual and procedural knowledge for the units of measurement and geometric shapes The study sample consisted of (10) third-grade female students from five public schools in Jeddah, included in the learning difficulties program. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of statistical significance (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of female students in the pre-and post-applications of the two achievement tests, and the differences were in favor of the post-application. The results did not show statistically significant differences between the post- and follow-up applications for the two achievement tests, which indicates the effectiveness of using the mind maps strategy in the retention of learning among the sample of the study. In light of these results, the study recommends training teachers to prepare and use mind maps in teaching mathematics.
